I was very nervous about getting a steroid shot in my knee, but they were very considerate and took great care of me. They did not make me feel like I was being silly about being nervous.

Due to a broken fibula and a non-related knee issue, I have been at UAB Highlands on five occasions recently. The medical care I have received has been excellent. What stands out for for me, however, was the very kind hospitality I found with each visit and with every person. Yes. UAB Highlands Orthopedic (oncology) Dr. Hess, Dr. [ ] and staff all made me feel extremely comfortable and well took care off. This is not an easy task for me because I usually have white coat syndrome and all new doctors and people usually make me feel extremely nervous. I so appreciate that a difficult doctors appointment now makes me feel like I have a family of doctors and staff that will be taking extremely good care of me. For someone like me with severe anxiety this has been a blessing.
