I had a positive experience with Dr. Ellis. He was pleasant professional, and demonstrated excellent bedside manner. Since it had been some time since my last visit, he took the time to throughly re-examine my foot and carefully review my surgical plan in detail.
He clearly explained the procedure, expected post-operative function main management, rehabilitation, recovery restrictions, and even travel considerations. All of my questions were answered thoughtfully, and I never felt rushed. I left the appointment feeling informed, prepared and confident moving forward.

The fellow was really great at walking me through the MRI films, and talking to me about the recovery. Patient, empathetic, direct, good information, very kind. Great bedside manner. Im hearing recovery worse than presented from a past patient, perhaps he was "trying" to tell me, perhaps I wasnt understanding the significance. Dr Ellis came in and was direct and informative. Seems like a great team.

It was an amazing experience. Saw the doctor on Monday and had surgery the next day. The staff , nurses and everyone were so nice and friendly. I am hoping the surgery was successful and will see dr drakos for our post op in two weeks.

The whole experience with Dr. Behrens and the entire team of HSS nurses and administrative staff has been exceptional. Given the severity of my foot injury and complicated surgery I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Everyone treated me with a lot of compassion and respect and made this painful process that much lighter. Grateful to be in such good hands.

I feel so confident in my choice to have De Demetracopoulos do my ankle replacement surgery. Although it took 6 months to get an appointment with him it was totally worth the wait. I was worried he would rush us but it was quite the opposite. He took plenty of time to explain my issues in easy to understand terms along with all the options and his recommendations. He made sure to answer all of our questions. I feel I am in the best hands possible. Just wish I could do my post op follow up in the Paramus NJ office, as it is very difficult driving into NYC especially after surgery. That still will not stop me. Thanks for give the confidence to move forward. It’s been several years of ankle torture getting progressively worse.
