John Ockenfels, D.O.
Dr Ockenfels has been our family physician for over 30 years and we are so grateful that we went to him. He is not afraid to refer us to another physician who may have better experience in our problem. We highly recommend him.

Dr Ockenfels is an excellent doctor and we are so grateful that he is our physician. He also has a great nurse, Connie, who is very much a professional and also a very good listener. She makes sure that our prescriptions are taken care of. Kudos to his office!

Dr. O is the best , I couldn’t ask for for better care. Dr. O also always has excellent nursing staff and the young people he has in the front office are very good.

I like going there have been for quite a few years....however this last visit i received a message to be there by 12:45 pm and when I got there it said they were in a meeting until 1 pm. I would wish they not ask us to be there 15 minutes early if they are in a meeting until 1 pm. Thats the only problem I had.

Sara Hill is still my medical “rock”. She is so kind and caring—as well as informed — I always feel better after discussing my health issues with her. Sara is a wonderful listener, as well as compassionate and professional. I see several specialists out of our area, and I text Sara concerning upcoming appointments— she wants to be informed. I simply cannot say enough kind things about her!!

Dr. Ockenfels is skilled, knowledgeable, and it’s very caring. He answers all my questions and takes time to talk with me about my health and informs me of best practices to improve my health. Nurse Connie is very efficient and thorough, very professional and so knowledgeable. She follows procedures, follows up, and uses verification processes. The Front an office staff are courteous and kind, very well trained, and are very professional. Customer Service is always efficient.

Sara Hill is a very good physician and she listens to you & lets you be part of the decision making process. I am very comfortable talking with her. My only issue with MyMichigan Heritage is the terrible phone system. I was put on hold for over 20 minutes the first time I called and after 10 minutes the second time I left a message. I waited until 10 am the next day for a return call and didn’t receive so I went online to book an appointment. This is a horrible situation for elderly people like my parents that don’t have the app & can’t sit & wait on hold for that long.

Since My Michigan took over the practice it has been nearly impossible to get my children in to be seen for a sick visit. Dr Ockenfels continues to provide the best care in the area despite forced changes by MyMichigan.
