I highly recommend Dr. Ockenfels to anyone that can get in to see him. His staff is very professional, friendly and courteous to my needs. Dr. O has been next to me every step of the way dealing with my Crohn's. I appreciate everything he's done and is still doing for me.

Dr. "O" is an excellent, professional, most knowledgeable, caring physician. I hope the management at the hospital does not mess with him - the community cannot afford to lose more doctors, medical staff, nurses or good clerical help. I hope the hospital mamagement has quality patient care ahead of just the bottom line.

Love Dr. Ockenfels, and have for years. Very knowledgeable in all areas. He will be very difficult to replace after he retires.

Dr. Ockenfels has been my doctor for over 25 years. I really like him and his work. He has been very good to me and my family. In the time that he has been our doctor, we have had a few issues but overall I really like having him for my doctor. I believe he is considering retiring and I have told him how much he would be missed by me, my wife and all of his other patients. Knowing that he is a workaholic, I have suggested that full retirement may not be for him, that retirement would not be a good fit for him. Of course, my ideas about Doc’s retirement is for my selfish benefit. He has earned and deserves a fine retirement.

Many of my family members are patients of Dr. Ockenfels. He always takes the time to listen to my concerns and I never feel rushed at my appointments. I would highly recommend Dr. Ockenfels .

Dr. Ockenfels is an awesome doctor! I’ve been his patient for almost 30 years & he knows my health history & needs. As far as the office getting back to me is another issue altogether though, it’s not good.

What would you tell family and friends about your experience with this provider?
He is great. He needs AI scribe. Physicians are doing too much of the clerical aspects of composing a note and anything that requires a computer. He’ll retire soon without AI doing charting for him. Doc should be looking at tests taking action on results. After patients it’s forms and PA for rx or peer to peer, begging for what he already decided. 8 hour patients = 4-6 more hours of work.

It's almost impossible to make an appointment with the appointment line, but once you can actually get in, the doctor is wonderful!

I have been a patient of Dr.Ockenfels for over 25 years and I am so grateful for his care and concern for my family and myself.

Dr Ockenfels is the best doctor I’ve ever had and cares about his patients and when I was caring for my brother in a nursing home I often saw Dr Ockenfels in visiting his patients even after hours which is something you don’t see doctors do much of these days. He is easy to talk to and is very knowledgeable. These kinds of doctors need to be paid accordingly and I know that in our area doctors and nurses are paid well below what they should be. This is why we lose so many doctors and my urologist is leaving and not sure if there will be a replacement? My Michigan needs to pay wages to doctors and nurses that others in similar areas are making.

Love Dr. O. and all of his care once I get in the office for the visit. Staff is very good once you get in the office. But I am unable to get anyone to answer the phone when you call the office. I have had to go in person to get apt scheduled. Very rarely will anyone answer the office phone. vary aggravating.

Dr Ockenfels is an amazing provider he always listens to me and provides me with the best care options specific to me. Once these ‘experienced providers’ leave us I feel concerned for our community. While there are lots of people in our medical community, you cannot replace experience , that must be earned.

Dr. Ockenfels is an outstanding doctor and treated Ally with respect and listened carefully to her needs and concerns.
