Friendly outgoing staff who make an effort to put their clients at ease. Very organized and structured; guidance to each location was provided. Care was delivered efficiently and professionally which I appreciated. I was included in decision making after discussion available options, which is critical to me in terms of care delivery.

Entering M D Anderson Care Center for the first time was unsettling. While I do not have a cancer diagnosis at that time, I recently lost my baby brother to cancer (CLL which transformed to Richter's) so my trepidation was heightened. Every single staff member, whether in direct communication or in passing, was friendly, helpful and spoke from a voice of genuine cordiality. Dr. Antunez is not only brilliant but so compassionate and caring. He genuinely listened to my concerns, expressed true sympathy for the loss of my brother, delved into all the medications in my chart accumulated over the years to remove those no longer applicable and educated me so much on the mechanics and intricacies of the different organs and related areas. Honestly, I was fascinated and learned so much from him. I appreciate that he did not schedule a host of procedures but instead is applying an approach of one procedure, review the results and then determine if additional testing is needed. He also validated my concerns and invited me to not hesitate to contact his office (hm) with any questions, new issues, etc. before my scheduled return visit. I walked out feeling seen and heard which was everything!

My PA‑C, K.H., chose the right profession. She communicates clearly, listens without rushing, and makes it easy to explain what’s happening with my health. She has also been a stabilizing force in my mental health. The last two years have been difficult, and the fact that I’m still here feels like a statistical outlier — a survival event. I’m on SSDI, and I’m focused on reaching Medicare in under a year. People sometimes say others have it worse, but that doesn’t reduce the weight of my own experience. I move forward with the belief that God is on my side because the truth is with me.
