Dr. Blaine Smith is an amazing Surgical Oncologist. He is a brilliant surgeon and did such a great job at explaining everything that was happening and what we would need to do. He has a very calming bedside manner and is also very professional.
He has an excellent staff, and I would not go anywhere else. He TRULY saved my life.

Everyone was very welcoming and efficient. We even had a Chaplin come in prior to our meeting with our surgeon and chat with us, as your questions in the one line check in were straight forward and asked about our mental health as well regarding the cancer findings. Dr. Smith was exceptional - and had a wonderful bed-side manner. He provided all the information regarding our questions and assured us of the plan going forward as a step by step. We are confident in his plan and care of this cancer treatment and cure!

Doctor Smith was very informed about my condition and explained what I had and gave me options. I wasn't ready to have a surgery but after other tests and doctors telling me that I had no choice if I wanted another surgery that I needed, I decided to have my surgery. Dr. Smith and his staff were very friendly and showed concern for me and my health. They fit me in as soon as possible and even called when they had a cancellation and did it sooner. The surgery was longer than expected because of the many nodules. Dr Smith made sure to check out each nodule and continued until he insured there was no issues with them. I had no problems in recovery and my incision is healing really well and is hard to see already.
I can't say enough about my experience and how professional and caring Dr. Smith and the entire staff in his offices and operating room were. I'm very pleased and thankful to all who made my surgery a success.

First of all, my treatment was obviously successful, I am writing a review. After having dealt with my father with prostatic cancer. Then my mother in law with breast cancer followed by my wife with rectal cancer. I had lived three of the same nightmares. One bad outcome and two successful. However, while taking the rollercoaster ride of success followed by failure followed by hope. The over riding frustration of no body seeming communicating with anyone else from radiation oncologist, to medical oncologist to surgeons to support staff. I chose M.D.Anderson for the simple fact that you see everyone in one location and you are discussed by all the different but related specialists on a weekly basis. Whatever your concern is with one area is shared with everyone so that they can mesh seamlessly with everyone else to give you the best outcome possible and to help smooth out the horrible rollercoaster of emotional and physical anguish that you and your family will be experiencing. I cannot say enough good things about the care that i have been given. Thanks.
