I appreciated Dr. Zakko’s continuous checking in with whether there was anything else she could do to help me as well as her humility around her knowledge versus where specialists would be better suited to help me.

My PCP was out so I was seen by Dr Zakko who assessed my leg and immediately sent me for an ultrasound that identified a DVT in my leg. She then sent me immediately to the emergency department for medical care. I was treated for my blood clots and admitted to the observation unit.

Dr. Zakko gave my 104 year old grandmother plenty of time, respect and consideration. She listened carefully to our concerns and questions, didn’t rush her, and crafted a thoughtful and smart approach to her care. She’s the best we’ve seen.
