Not only is Dr. Knierim professional and knowledgeable, she makes you feel comfortable as soon as she enters. I appreciate the time she takes and understanding and care she provides. I was very impressed typically I dont get to meet surgeon until I'm about to be rolled into surgery. To be able to sit down and have a conversation and get to know who is going to be taking care of me was really nice. He actually listened to my questions, enguaged with my son in conversation. We were treated like people that mattered vs coming in frustrated that he had to talk to us. Which we have experienced a lot in the past at other places. To sit and explain, go over what next steps we would take and break it down so I could understand what he was saying was extremely helpful. I left yesterday feeling confident that if I'm being operated on again that he's doing it. Never have I felt that way. Because I never get to meet the surgeon just the nurses. He set himself apart from others in many ways yesterday. So thank you, I look forward to figuring out the next steps and appreciate your bedside manner. I feel it gets lost sometimes. I have standards now that I didn't have before coming back in here yesterday. I'm happy the VA sent me over to SSM.
