Priya S. Vakharia, MD is a wonderful physician and runs a great practice. I see her at the Tampa Road office. Dr. V is personable, professional, innovative, caring, and treats people with respect. Her staff follows her direction. Efficient and friendly - understand the paperwork too! Pre-authorizations are handled with ease. With a previous practice I spent 2-3 hours and always had insurance issues. With Retina Vitreous Associates appointments are 30-45 minutes or less and no insurance issues.

I had been with my previous ophthalmologist for 22 years, so finding a new one and going to a first appointment gave me a LOT of apprehension. I’m very happy to say that those feelings were very quickly eased as I went through the appointment and conversed with the staff and doctor. They thoroughly exceeded my hopes and expectations and I’m SO relieved to find them. Not only were they knowledgeable and professional, but I really liked the way Dr. Cohen thoroughly explained things to me and showed me pictures of my retinas, while explaining how to interpret those pictures. I feel very safe in their care and to me that’s everything. Since you’re probably reading this because you’re looking for an ophthalmologist, I would like to warn you off a group called Robson. They are a nightmare of medial administrative incompetence and the reason that I’m now with Dr. Cohen.

I have a complicated history of retinal detachment with macula off requiring multiple surgeries. After 1 year at another practice, I presented for a 2cnd opinion and transferred my care. Dr. Cohen is truly an expert in his field. He has patience in providing a thorough explanation of diagnoses, options and plan of care. I have the utmost of confidence in his knowledge and care!

My experience with Retina Vitreous Associates and in particular with Dr. White and his staff was absolutely great. Kay conducting initial testing was terrific - thorough and caring. Dr A White was wonderful. He was extremely knowledgeable, professional, as well as personable, and showed genuine care throughout my examination and testing. I will continue to follow up with RVA and Dr White for continued monitoring and treatment, and I highly recommend them.

Dr. Cohen granted me emergency care, although I am a patient at another location. My eyes were stinging so badly I could hardly see. I thought my eyes hadn't been irrigated enough after treatment two days before. I would use his practice if it were closer to me!
