Dr Gharia listened to me and let me participate in decisions about my treatment plan. His assistant B [last name] was always available for any questions. The infusion nurses, especially Jasmine, were very kind. They showed empathy and understanding. My surgeon and her team did an excellent job. There is plenty of follow up for any later concerns. Mandy in the blood lab was helpful and explained every step of my blood work. MD Anderson is an excellent facility with a skillful medical team and friendly receptionists. Too many to mention, Gisette [last name] helped with paperwork & Nurse Peggy.

I consider Dr. Avila-Lima a close friend, she listens, we joke both in English and in Spanish. I know and trust all of her advices and treatment choices. She is proactive when I have issues I think are minor but she pushes to find the reason for my issues.

Everything from the checkout service to the doctor everyone here is very nice and awesome. Everyone welcomes as soon as you walk through the doors, even if you’re not coming to their clinic, they still seems to be happy you’re here.

Dr. Gharia was absolutely fabulous.. By far one of the best physicians I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. His staff was fabulous as well. If I lived closer he would be my doctor.

Callie and the whole staff are amazing. I liked the friendly caring ways. I loved the way Callie really listens and she went over everything and helped me to understand what's going on.. she listened to the stresses I have been going through and I felt lighter when I left. Callie is really great at being an encourager and developing a sense of trust in my care. Thank you.

I am so impressed with the continuity of care from one person to the next. We arrived early so I could talk with surgery about getting my port scheduled. Although breast surgical oncology will not be placing my port, the scheduler was able to assist me in getting in touch with the person from the surgical oncology clinic that will be placing my port.
When we met with Dr. Avila-Lima, I appreciate her taking the time to meet with the surgical oncologist so they could review my imaging together before she met with us. I feel that this allows them to come together to determine the best approach and plan of care for me. I appreciate that Dr. Avila-Lima took the time to listen to all of my questions (I had quite a few), and some of my questions she answered even before I had the chance to ask them. She also addressed the topic of fertility which is important to my husband and I. She explained the options available to us, and helped us arrive at a decision that would be best for our family. I’m thankful for providers who listen and treat their patients like part of the care team, allowing us to share in the decision making process.
