I love Md Anderson and especially my breast cancer oncologist Dr Avila-Lima who is the most gentle, kinds and truly empathetic doctor I have had for my cancer treatment. She listens to every complaint seriously and seeks ways to resolve my fears. She never rushes me and makes sure that each of my complaints or worries are taken care of before I leave. She allows me the freedom to choose whether I have certain treatments without Judgment. She is a wonderful doctor and makes me feel truly cared for. I also love how tests can be done promptly before leaving the facility which really helps with my anxiety as there is no waiting weeks for results. Everything at MD Anderson is professional and everyone I have contact with are kind and courteous. The facility is well maintained and everything is so clean. God has blessed me to be part of this highly esteemed medical center.

From the time I walked in and met the doctor, I felt listened to and so well informed. This is my fourth cancer, so I came to MD Anderson for a second opinion. I was so impressed by the facility and the doctors they will now be my primary caregivers. This is my fourth cancer and I wish I would have been here from the beginning. To be able to have such a large team looking at everything was so reassuring. I felt a weight lifted when I left.

The office was clean, great view of the river from the waiting room. The check-in staff was professional and friendly. The back-office staff was professional and friendly. The nurse and doctor were kind and comforting to myself and family. Dr. Avila-Lima was wonderful, not hurried, spoke to me, the patient and included my family in asking questions. Referrals and orders that were placed at a morning visit, some of which were made and carried out in less than 24 hours, and the others were scheduled in not much more than 24 hours. I feel I am in good hands with this team, albeit a diagnosis no woman ever wants to have.

Dr. Avila-Lima is an outstanding doctor who is concerned for the total patient as all medical issues affect the status of breast cancer. As a result, on leaving her office, she'd totally reviewed my blood panels, discussed current medical issues, and gave me four (4) specific action items which I was to follow up with other specialists. I did. My health is greatly enhanced and I'm blessed to have her as my doctor.
