I was not impressed with Dr. Swong. He said he would not recommend surgery and offered no explanation. I felt like everything I learned from him had to be pulled from him by posing questions to him. Patients should not have to know what technical questions to ask to learn why a doctor believes in his recommendation as the path forward. His answers were one word or short responses. He acted like he had some place to be and overall, indifferent. If I ever do need surgery, I wouldn't choose him.

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Swong. He communicated everything to me very well and answered questions I had about the surgery before I even had the chance to ask them. When i did get lost on his answer, he seemed to quickly figure out where I was being tripped up and rephrase the answer.

Dr. Swong knowledge and confidence is very reassuring . He takes time to listen, answers questions and explain but with an undertone of being rushed. Would be helpful to have more emphatic and caring attitude toward patient.

Dr. Swong is thorough and competent. He is not particularly good at communicating. Speaks quickly, always seems like he's too busy, and doesn't ask many questions. Fortunately, he has staff who handles this for him.
