Dr. Penna was extremely professional. She presented findings of a psych evaluation for my son in a clear, unbiased manner. She made him feel very comfortable during the virtual pre-eval, during the eval, and post-evaluation. He had been previously influenced by friends and on-line self-diagnosing (although I honestly don't think he realizes it this, even to this day) and was somewhat living into an inaccurate diagnoses. Dr. Penna led him through an objective evaluation and now we are very clear and can focus on how to help him move forward in an appropriate manner. Highly recommend.

The doctor's notes contain inaccuracies, as if she wasn't listening. She seemed unaware of the most recent Autism studies including the theory of double empathy. She seemed to have preconceived notions about Autism that are no longer in the DSM. She used a term that describes a state of bipolar disorder, which has commonly been assigned to masking Autistic females by doctors who don't fully understand Autism in females. How many Neurodivergent Doctors at Baptist perform Autism accessments? What kind of regular training are doctors who diagnose neurodivergence required to complete? Do they practice social or medical model of disabilities?

I would absolutely recommend Dr. Penna. Throughout this evaluation process for my two-year-old she has been empathetic, patient, and resourceful.She help me set reasonable expectations and provided me with resources to best manage the new diagnosis.
