What would you tell family and friends about your experience with this provider?
Dr. Maria Mason is amazing, after meeting her with the birth of my son. We immediately started initiating the process to move our daughter here from a different provider. She’s so great with kids, and so easy to communicate with about concerns. I even had a follow up comment through the portal that she responded to in a very timely fashion. I very much appreciate her, making us feel heard and our concerns valid.
What would you tell family and friends about your experience with this provider?
Front desk were friendly, always smiling. The MA is always kind and thorough and the MA and Dr Fell talk to my child and me- Dr Fell listened well to both me and my child and treated appropriately. We appreciate him and his office!
What would you tell family and friends about your experience with this provider?
Best provided we have had. He is kind and makes time for his patients and their concerns. I never feel in a rush and I feel heard! Thomas Fell is the best provider that MidMichigan Pediatrics has had in years!
What would you tell family and friends about your experience with this provider?
Maria Mason is an excellent provider, however office policies impede on receiving appropriate level of care needed. Getting an appointment is difficult and office will not deviate from established policies to provide care objectively.
What would you tell family and friends about your experience with this provider?
My [Age] old said "Doctor Mason" a dozen times throughout the day, after her appointment. She enjoyed meeting with her. Dr. Maria Mason is exactly the pediatrician we were hoping to find here in Alpena and we're glad to call her ours! She is great with my child and I trust her knowledge and advice.
What would you tell family and friends about your experience with this provider?
Dr. Fell and his assistant Charles were super friendly and accommodating from the moment we happened to run into them in the elevator thro the entire appointment. They have my husband and I confidence in the care team as well as comfort in any concerns to be addressed quickly and accurately in the future. We look forward to working with the office.
Dr. Mason is excellent and I would recommend her to anyone. She goes above and beyond to advocate for her patients, she listens carefully to parents concerns! She spent a substantial amount of time with us, answered all of our questions, addressed our concerns, and educated us as well! The support staff within the office is also great. We are always seen “same-day” for acute concerns and Dr. Mason never makes us feel unwelcome, even if it’s a viral illness.
What could have been done to improve your experience?
Nothing, with every visit we have had, we’ve had nothing but good things to say and left feeling confident, reassured, and understood/heard.
Positive experience each and every time, from a few days old to our most recent 15 month well check. Dr. Mason has great presence in the room and speaks with my little one in just the right way so that she's curious instead of concerned. We never feel rushed or unheard. Thank you!
Its difficult to say exactly as so far we've only had one appointment with Dr. Mason, however she was very personable, explained everything and seemed to make sure we understood what she was saying. She seemed genuinely interested in helping us rather just going through the motions to get us out ASAP.
We have had a positive experience each and every time with Dr. Mason. She is down to earth and great with our little one. She moves slowly, deliberately, just right for a little person to feel curiosity by the experience rather than concern or fear. Thanks for giving [Patient Name] agency! What could have been done to improve your experience?
I have been impressed in the past, with two prior visits. This most recent visit was really disappointing.
What could have been done to improve your experience?
Speed reading a patient’s information before seeing them. My two requests for specialized care, specifically dermatology and behavioral health, were denied immediately. I was very confused. It was later revealed she didn’t know I had insurance. She was also very curt with my son and pretty patronizing when I started to do the “1-2-3 counting” with him to get him to behave. This was in a visit where I expressed concern on behavior when he was in uncomfortable places or around loud noises/busy areas. A little understanding would have been nice, keeping sass out of it would have been best.
I have a complex medically fragile child, his needs are enormous and complicated. Dr Fell took the time to review all notes, make notes and engage with me any questions and referrals needed to make his life more compete and mine less complicated.
What could have been done to improve your experience?
Nothing, honestly, he gave us a huge amount of time to go over all my child information.
Dr. Fell is always very patient with my little guy. He listens to my suggestions as his mom and never makes us feel like an inconvenience. Both Dr. Fell and Charles are extremely helpful with my guys’ needs and it shows. My son is comfortable with both of them and that makes a huge difference in his care.
What could have been done to improve your experience?
Nothing. Everyone has been excellent and I’m very happy with our decision to come to this office.
The attention she gives [Patient]. I feel like she actually hears my concerns and looks into them. Other dr usually brush the little things or and dr mason doesn’t do that. Thank you for everything [Patient name redacted for privacy.]
We love seeing Charles and Dr. Fell. Both personable, friendly and listen well. Appreciated the formula sample containers at our last visit as I had just transitioned from breast to formula.
Charles is always fabulous. This was our first time working with Dr. Mason, but she was amazing as well. I appreciated that both directed questions at my child first, then to me. Even though she's only a toddler, that helped her feel at ease and more in control of the situation, which I think is absolutely amazing - this is HER doctor appointment, after all!
There is a front office person that was the nicest most helpful person. Her name is Amanda. She has gone out of her way several times to help us. I’m very grateful for her services.
What could have been done to improve your experience?
I feel like Dr. Mason could be better at understanding how stressful it is to treat your children when problems arise. Especially complex issues. In one particular situation she was very rude and dismissive. The communication is lacking. We have decided to go to the other clinic in town and feel that is a better fit for our situation.
