I found Dr. Berhanu to be a very thoughtful, informative and caring doctor. She listens to and answers questions clearly and has the time and patience to spend a reasonable amount of time with her patients. She seems quite authoritative about the treatment issues one faces with osteoporosis and how to handle them. All in all, my experience with her was very positive.

My appointment with Dr. Berhanu was excellent as always. Dr. Berhanu is an extremely kind, caring, patient, and understanding individual whose "bedside manner" is professional, courteous, reassuring and comforting. She is an asset to the GW Hospital Medical Team and I truly appreciate having her as my doctor.

Dr Berhanu was thorough in her examination, looked at my chart from 5 years earlier and was prepared to discuss my cure r symptoms as well those I had in the past. She examined both my hands and ankles (my experience is that doctors perform examination of a single body part at the time, unfortunately). She explained her reasons why she diagnosed tendinitis rather than arthritis. AND, because of my concerns over the blood pressure initially measured by the assistant, she tested it again at the end of the visit. She has great bedside manners, is knowledgeable and put you at ease. Great doctor

My first appointment. Dr. Berhanu spent a long time with me, listening, exploring, explaining. We established next steps and a plan going forward. This was one of the best appointments I have ever had with a physician in my 80 years.

Dr. Berhanu always takes the necessary time to answer my questions and talk through how I've been doing. She never rushes and has the loveliest bedside manner. I appreciate that she's supportive of a holistic approach to managing my RA.

Dr. Berhanu is an excellent physician. She is patient and listens to your concerns and complaints. I thank her very kindly for assisting me because my condition was horrific when I went to see her. Always direct and to the point. I was really feeling depressed due to things happening in my body especially pain and swelling, however, her honesty and reminder that I needed to be more proactive in addressing issues happening in my body helped me to reevaluate and start doing things I could do and not worry about things not in my control.

Very personable and easy to talk to. Dr. Berhanu was willing to dive deeper into symptoms and come up with possibly other reasons for pain vs. what I have been labelled with for years. No other doctors ever explored other reasons for pain.

Dr. Berhanu is simply amazing. I have never had a rheumatologist take the time to explain things and answer my questions the way that she did. She was extremely thorough in my exam, went over treatment plans and options, and I felt so seen and listened to. It was quite possibly the best experience I’ve had at a doctor’s appointment and I feel so comfortable knowing that she will be treating my condition going forward.
