Dr Ahmad is wonderful for so many reasons. He is kind and caring. He doesn’t rush. He explains things so I understand them. He orders more test if he feels they are needed. and I truly feel he care about his patients health. He listens, and also he is considerate about my modesty. Which is important to me.

He could not have cared less about the fact that I have been in pain for the past three weeks. He told me to take some ibuprofen (which I can't, because my stomach lining is damaged and even one dose of NSAIDs causes me to be nauseous for weeks after). He ordered a test I already had several months ago, which we both know is pointless given my history, just to get me out of his hair. He refused to answer any further questions about what he would recommend if the test disclosed nothing, as we both know it will. I'm in so much pain that I'm being tempted to hurt myself, and his response was to take some Tylenol. The minute I told him I did not want to take birth control (for multiple valid reasons, into which he did not inquire), he was headed out the door. He told me that he won't prescribe opioids for dysmenorrhea because they are more dangerous than birth control. Without even bothering to assess me and find out more about my situation, he made this determination. I successfully used opioids for this problem for about three years before getting married and having children (the pregnancies reduced my endometriosis/adenomyosis symptoms greatly until now). I used them only as needed and never used them when I didn't need them. I am not at risk for abusing them now. I am not unhappy -- I am in severe pain! There is a difference! What is the point of making the nurses do these suicide screenings, asking people if they have thoughts of hurting themselves and if they've lost interest in life, if you're going to wave them out of the office after an appointment of literally five minutes and tell them to go home and take some Tylenol? Yes, it was five minutes, and most of that was him leaving the room to write the order for the pointless test. I think he might have spent about two minutes total talking to me and examining me.Even if he does not give a rip about his patients or people in pain, he would do well to pretend. That would have gone a long way. Even if there is nothing he is willing to do to help me, he could have at least taken the time to be kind. Maybe he is in pain himself.
