Dr. Velez is so kind and caring. She was direct and to the point, answering all of my questions along the way. Dr. Velez made a plan as to the next testing and steps to get a diagnosis and to then decide how to treat the problem. She reached out to colleagues and suggested I may want to schedule an appointment to talk with one or two of them to see what they had to offer me.The cancer diagnosis was shocking and not at all what I expected. She encouraged me to remain positive and offered for me to call her at any time. That evening she called me at home (7:30 pm) to check to see how I was doing emotionally. That was above and beyond what was expected of her but certainly made me feel well cared for. She was calling from the office and I am sure she was exhausted after a long day.These past couple of weeks were the first time I have ever met Dr. Velez and I can't thank her enough for her excellent care.
