Dr. Geiger was beyond rude. I asked him about the results of my test and he said “I already told you about that last visit” (he did not, test was taken after last visit). My daughter, who came with me to the appointment, asked him about using red light therapy to help heal my ulcer. She explained there have been many studies on this and he was very rude to her, told her that “it’s silly” and said “you can go ahead and find someone that does that if you want” in a very rude tone. My daughter explained she has a professional red light device and she was just wondering because there are many studies on using to heal diabetic ulcers with a very high success rate. He scuffed and ignored her. Considering Northwestern is one of the top hospitals in the country, I expect the doctors to be experts in their fields and be up-to-date on the latest research to help their patients. The meta-analysis study was done in 2016, this information isn’t new and has been published and peer reviewed. Even if he didn’t know, his response was absolutely appalling. My daughter works for the Joint Commission, and was very disappointed in this visit. I will no longer be seeing this doctor.

Dr Liston presented both the pros and cons of having the knee replacement surgery and did not sugar-coat what I would experience post-op. He was very attentive and available to address any concerns throughout. It’s been less than 2.5 weeks since my surgery and everything is going very well. Understanding what to expect helped me to manage my expectations.
