She is thorough, however seems peeved about me making an annual visit vs a new appt. I haven’t had a new pcp in 10 years so I need to get used to a new style.

Dr. Katia Fernandez listened to all my concerns. Very kind and patient. Explained things to me in a simple way, which I appreciated very much. Was able to address all that I asked about and offered test, blood draw, and vaccine to do during appointment. Received EKG and tetanus shot. Even offered blood draw (but I scheduled for next day due to fasting). Gave referral for services I asked about to improve health. Future appointment was easy to schedule. Was probably the best doctor's visit I've ever had. Felt taken care of and heard. Thank you. Exceeded my expectations.

I finally found a doctor that listens and doesn't shrug my concerns off by stating that they are symptoms from being a tired single mother. The doctored listened and immediately ordered the lab work needed to be done to find out the cause. Thank you Dr. Fernandez, for listening and not treating me like all other doctors have done; like I don't know my own body nor what I'm talking about.

Dr. Fernandez is amazing and I hope this is a trend in medicine. She takes time to speak with me about my concerns, treatment plan, and options for care. The burden of practicing medicine is not on me, but she has a conversation about what is going on and takes time to speak with me about what I'm experiencing, what is typical for my body to feel and what I notice is not right. I just so appreciate that she spends time and not just rushing in, giving a quick check and rushing out.

She listened to all my weird health concerns and didn't dismiss any of them while also providing her expert opinion and necessary referrals. Just like all my Northwestern doctors, I felt like I was receiving the best care possible even for something as simple as a routine checkup.
