She was very thorough, calm and listened to what I had to say and explain to me everything, what she was doing the exam & the x-rays. She also gave me a few steps forward.

My husband (the patient) has Alzheimer's and that was the first thing I made known. Nurse Ferkau knowing that my husband has Alzheimer's and his recent memory no longer exists, Mrs. Ferkau ignored his illness and never approached me (I am the patient's wife) to ask about his severe pain and the reason for our visit to the hospital . My husband to his questions answered what he remembered when he was young. The nurse transmits anxiety because of her rush to speak. If Mrs. Ferkau doesn't have time, she could have sent another nurse. I don't speak English and I shouldn't feel guilty about it, Ferkau completely ignored me. It was a very unpleasant experience for me.

Karen made me feel comfortable for our first visit. She obviously had taken the time to review my records which made explaining my current situation easier. And she was friendly and warm which allowed me to be honest, upfront and show share my concerns completely.

She would return my calls within a very reasonable amount of time... She is extremely pleasant. She kept me focused on the topic of communication.. This may sound like an oxymoron but, she was thorough did not waste time during the assessment and I did not feel rushed. It was a pleasure meeting with her!!
