Dr. Julia Geynisman-Tan is wonderful. During the pre-op appointment, she explained my options for surgery and let me have a conversation with her as to the best plan possible for a favorable outcome for a quick and speedy recovery.

Well, I think I sang his praises in the description above, but I will add having seen him for the first time yesterday since my discharge, my opinion of him did not waiver in fact, if it's possible, my opinion of him is even stronger. I left his office yesterday with assurances that I was in the hands of the best neurosurgeon and that my recovery, and his opinion, had gone well. It was great to have the affirmation that I believe to be the case. Although he had many patients to see yesterday, he was generous with his time. What an incredible human being! Just an added note here, when I returned home with continuing inpatient and then outpatient therapies, I began to research this neurosurgeon and it is clear that he is highly thought of and renowned throughout the country and perhaps beyond. There's no question in my mind that for the type of tumor I had and how massive it was I had the best neurosurgeon! I must add that Dr. Magill's communication with my children was incredible. His confidence inspired confidence in my children to make the tough decisions they had to make. He was candid with them but compassionate. I know this because they too, cannot give enough praise to this man. He treated them as intelligent competent young adults and, as my children tell me answered all of their questions and also gave information that they needed to hear even if they had not thought to ask. While what I went through is something I never expected to happen to me, what my children went through was something I never wish that they would have to go through. With his guidance and compassion, and the same treatment from all of his staff, the residents, and the caregivers at Northwestern, my children grew confident knowing that they had put me in good hands, the best hands. I just read the notes below in this email, and I certainly hope you post my experience and my family's experience with Dr Magill and the Northwestern staff. And I truly hope you share this review with him. I imagine this man has a lot of fans, and I am probably not adding much to what already other patients and families already know. Medicine, and all of its facets, needs more physicians like Dr Magill.
