I was very impressed with the consult, both by Anna (dietician) and Dr. Mark (surgeon). They were very thorough with their explanations, listened to my concerns, and did a great job of relieving me of my doubts about the surgery.

My first encounter with Dr. Jonker was for an emergency appendectomy. He was the surgeon on that call that day and I’m so glad, as I later learned he was a bariatric surgeon. I wasn’t too familiar with bariatric surgery so when I went for my appendectomy follow-up, I was able to ask some questions and get to know him better. In our later meetings, Dr. Jonker proved to be very kind, compassionate, patient, and he had a great way of explaining things so that I could understand the process of how a SADI-S worked. I had absolutely zero qualms about having this surgery with him using a robot-assisted machine. My follow-up care has been exactly as expected - wonderful. I lost 81% of my excess weight using the SADI-S, which was his ultimate recommendation based on my presentation. I’ve maintained the loss for three years now following his guidelines and my health has corrected itself substantially (as proven by bloodwork). Perhaps the initial appendectomy was the best thing to happen to me, as the ultimate result of it completely changed my life. Thanks to Dr. Jonker I am finally enjoying living life! I couldn’t praise him enough for his skill and friendly bedside manner.

Stephanie Bordt and Dr Mark Jonkers are a perfect team working together side by side with an excellent staff. Stephanie is very cheerful and supportive to her patients and she as well as Drs Mark Jonkers are Top Notch h in their field. Stephanie and Dr Jonkers performed my barriatric surgery and did my sister in laws surgery this past week. My brother is scheduled to have his barriatric surgery with Stephanie Bordt and Dr Mark Jonkers next year. We are 100% satisfied with our care team.

We drive over 3 hours each way to your bariatric clinic from Caseville Michigan upnorth in the thumb to Howell. and return home after my appointments. It’s your entire staff and Drs that make me keep returning to IHA/St Joes /Trinity for my Barriatric/General and Neuroligy Drs visits thru the entire year.
