What would you tell family and friends about your experience with this provider?
I like Dr Phala, but am uneasy about the care I am receiving. When I call and leave a message, the call is not returned. It takes multiple calls and drop-ins to get an answer and I'm not sure they are accurate answers. When a referral is made, I'm not sure if the office staff is following through and making the referral in a timely manner. I'm VERY uneasy that Dr does not do an overall quick assessment (listen to heart & lungs, look in the eyes, etc) at appointments.

I would encourage them to make an appointment and see for their selves, how awesome Dr. Phala and his staff are!

Dr. Sefako listens to any questions that I have. I’m not rushing out like a number. They are concerned about your health and well being. I have told my family and friends about everything they do. They’re the best.

Dr Phala is one of very few doctors who understands the rare condition that I have. He is thorough, friendly, and actually cares for his patients. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

My visits have always been informative regarding my health. All my questions were answered and my requests for important tests were always followed up in a timely manner.

Professional, and easy to understand and talk to. When he doesn’t know he sends you to e reputable specialist that will and after your visit to the specialist he contacted me with an explanation of what they found at the next appointment.

Dr Phala has been a great doctor and I have been going to see him for a few years now. He’s been doing a great job at helping me with my health. I can always get in when I make an appointment and the staff is friendly and helpful. I would recommend that anyone that’s looking for a primary care physician to consider Dr Phala as their doctor.

What would you tell family and friends about your experience with this provider?
Dr Phala has been an excellent doctor and I have been receiving great care. I am managing to stay fairly healthy despite my injury and am able to live independently. The staff is helpful and friendly and I have no problems getting in for my appointments when they’re scheduled.

I absolutely love Dr Phala. He is great al listening to my concerns and working with me on making the best health decisions for me. I highly recommend his office whenever I am asked about recommendations. He is great at taking the time with you and I never feel rushed there.

Extremely understanding about your medical issues and tries to help any way he can and tries to help you with your medical issues that you may have or need addressed. Been to several Dr's in the past he's definitely is one of the best. Luv him like Family!

I am immensely pleased with Dr. Phala. However, his assistant doesn't return or acknowledge my phone calls when I leave a message at their phone prompt. Specifically, Dr. Phala wanted me to get a colonoscopy after my Sumner physical. I was new to Ascension and unfamiliar with their specialists, so I asked the discharge receptionist to make an appointment for me with their recommended office and contact me with the appointment. I didn't hear back, so I called two weeks later and left a message. And a couple weeks later I called again! No response. I let it go, as I was busy in the fall. But when I went back to see Dr. Phala on another matter, I asked the receptionist and was told to "just give them a call and schedule anytime." It's been my experience that specialists prioritize referrals from PCPs than new patients! I was a medical assistant for 15 years and ALWAYS followed up with my patients with specialists.

Friendly and caring staff. I’ve never felt ignored by the doctor or staff. I always recommend the doctor and office to anyone I know who is looking for a doctor. Since my last primary care doctor retired 10 years ago o have not had this quality of care and I so appreciate it!

I believe they are concerned with keeping me healthy and that's very important to me have a grandchild on the way so hopefully my children can focus on their child and not have to take care of an elderly parent. Thank you!

If you can get an appointment they are amazing but if you are waiting for results…good luck. When I see Brittany Phala she is prompt and fast with making sure I get my results and or a call back. However with Sefako Phala I never get a call back or follow up. I’m waiting currently to hear results from an ultrasound done almost 2 months ago. Results have back for a week and can’t get someone to call me to go over them. This is completely unacceptable.

Dr.Sefako is great as far as listening as well as explaining his diagnosis and making a directive to get results, the only issue Ive been having lately is to get a timely appointment for a new & current follow ups the office is usually scheduling 2 weeks out

Dr Phala has been my doctor for a while now and I have been happy with him and his treatment and the staff is always great and helpful. If your looking for a primary care physician, Dr Phala would be a great choice.
