What would you tell family and friends about your experience with this provider?
Dr Schmidt was very personable and a great listener. We talked about my issue and how to treat it. I am so glad the mat I was referred by my personal doctor Dr Trombley. Heather the nurse was also friendly and attentive. She also did a great job. I would definitely recommend Dr Schmidt and Heather for your back needs.

What would you tell family and friends about your experience with this provider?
I would recommend Dr Schmidt. I was very impressed with him! He was honest with me on what could happen having Surgery at my age He explained everything to me and would follow up in 6 months to make sure I was doing okay.

What would you tell family and friends about your experience with this provider?
I had a terrible experience with him. I have been in terrible pain since March and he blew me off and basically said there was nothing wrong with me and there was nothing he could do for me. Terrible bedside manner. I left the office in tears before I could even get to the parking lot. I have dealt with drs in my past that were arrogant because I used to work in surgery, he took arrogance to a whole new level. He was not a nice man because of the way he made me feel. He could have had a little compassion.

I was very impressed with Drs bedside manner and warmth of his delivery of his recommendations.

What would you tell family and friends about your experience with this provider?
Efficient. Difficulty making initial appointment as person didnt listen to the new information I gave them. I received a call the next week asking for the correct info which I had already given. Initially I was told they didnt take my insurance ce. Their system had several years old info. I gave the new info but apparently the girl went by the old info in their system rather than listening to what I was saying.

What would you tell family and friends about your experience with this provider?
My primary physician said I have bulging discs and diagnosed me with DDD and Dr Schmidt said it was “normal wear and tear” for someone “my age”. I am confused as never had issues with back pain before and I was in the first ever violent auto accident near the end of last year. This was my first appointment and I felt roundly dismissed and will seek more information from my primary doctor and maybe a second opinion.

What would you tell family and friends about your experience with this provider?
It was obvious from the start the Doctor had minimal interest in my case. He didn't bother to know my details and I believe it was because I was too overweight for surgery . I was there to understand my conditions and options and already knew my weight was an obstacle. I came away thinking what a waste of time. Essentially because of my weight, it appeared that he found me to be a waste of his time and didn't fully answer any of my questions. He was obsessively rubbing his thighs as if nervous or anxious to finish. I specifically requested to see him because of his surgical reputation and was hopeful that he would be infornative. I left very disappointed.

Dr. Schmidt’s office and staff were extremely friendly on my visit. They were very thorough on explaining everything during my appointment.

They do all they can do in a medical system that is broken i feel bad for health care professionals that are constantly told what can be done by insurance or government But the staff at my mich spine & pain are awesome

I scheduled this appointment after having an MRI. THE NURSE, Heather, was very nice and sincere. The PA showed me my MRI and suggested surgery. The Dr entered the room for about 2 minutes and did not answer any of my concerns. None. And this is exactly what I tell people.

The NP did majority of the work. The Dr Schmidt came in and told me exactly the same thing the NP told me without even examine me.

I only met once and was treated well. I’m still waiting for my physical therapy to start (scheduled) and my ablation (not scheduled) to start.

Very disappointed, for an initial consult he stood by the door like I was a bother, he never did an assessment and spent about 7 mins with me. He asked about my symptoms then made me feel like a liar. I got no suggestions for relief while I wait up to 6 weeks to see if an injection may help and that wasnt explained to me in how that will help.

Dr. Schmidt and his staff go above and beyond when caring for patients. He took time to listen to us and explained everything in a thorough and understandable way. The receptionist actually rode down in the elevator with us and showed us directions to another appointment. Every single one of them is kind, cari g and competent. Would highly recommend this physician to anyone.

When arriving at my appointment , the receptionist always has all the answers and treated me with respect . I believe she’s a real professional. All staff was great !

Dr Schmitt saved me from going under the knife with a level 5 fusion. I am so happy I went to him for a second opinion. As of right now my neck is stable and with pain management I am doing great.

My chart has a neuro physical assessment complete. Unsure how, when the only time the doctor came near me was to shake my hand for the two appts i had. I never had any assessment done. Apparently he can tell a persons grips, sensation, flexion, hoffman sign, babinski sign and capillary refill by just looking at them.

What would you tell family and friends about your experience with this provider?
He was kind and sent me to the pain clinic so I could get relief from my pain and said if that doesn’t work I should lose weight and that will help. He didn’t think I needed surgery at this time.

Still waiting for office visit notes to be posted to my chart. For me & my Primary Dr, Dr. Katz to read. Had to call the office and ask them if they forgot to give me a follow-up appointment. Got a call a day later to set up appt. So to my family & friends follow up is lacking.
