I was seen quickly, he went ahead and did my wellness check up so I don’t need to go back in a few weeks. He seemed knowledgeable about my medical history. And he sent home a detailed guideline for weight loss with me.

My BP was high. I do have a history of high BP but it's been controlled. I said it was due to driving in the snow, and I stress over driving since and accident a couple years ago. I wish my BP would have been taken a 2nd time after I had relaxed a bit. Being a new patient I thought we'd talk a bit about my health history. We didn't.

Id met Dr Elting from a visit with my friend. I liked his manner that's why I've enquired on making him my primary and also have recommended him for my friends family as well.

I am in relatively good health for an older patient, therefore I only see him about once every six months. However, I believe he respects my views on specific health related issues and it’s what all older patients want - to be able to make decisions related to their care and have their doctor respect that. I also believe I am more than willing to listen to any opinion he has and weigh it carefully and if his argument is compelling enough, change my position. After all, the only thing in this life we can be sure of is change. Every time we inhale and exhale we are a little bit different than before. Healthcare is similar - everyday new things are discovered or rethought - things thought to be good can actually be bad and vice versa - it’s why it is called the practice of medicine - it is not an exact science. I believe Dr. Elting understands this and I find that because of this he is more relatable than others I have had throughout my life who have somewhat of a god complex. Dr. Elting is nothing like that and I appreciate it. I also appreciate that with the ever changing conditions in the healthcare industry, he seems very empathetic and grounded.
