I found it impossible to communicate with my surgeon. It took several attempts to book the MRI he ordered. I couldn't get hold of anyone. It seems that there are many departments that are not in communication with each other. One person called me to cancel an appointment and days later'another person would call to remind me of that appointment as it was never canceled in the system. I became so upset by the endless miscommunications that I enlisted a patient advocate'who I spoke to once and never heard from again. My MRI was finally scheduled but according to my records..the machine was not optimized for the test I was sent for. Despite all this..I went to a second appointment with my surgeon (who is very pleasant and knowledgeable)..we discussed corrective surgery and he informed me that I would be called within the week to schedule surgery. That was almost a month ago with no communication whatsoever. My surgeon seems great! However I have zero trust in the convoluted system at Baptist to schedule or arrange anything for me. I came to this hospital after my insurance company delayed an MRI for a leaking implant for 10 months. I trusted Baptist to help me get the care I had been denied for the better part of a year. So now I will be calling for my records to take to another hospital system. I had Cancer but trying to get care for a leaking implant and uncomfortable capsular contraction has been more upsetting. At this point there is absolutely you can do for me other than ensure better interdepartmental communication so this never happens to another patient. I will never return to this hospital myself or with any member of my family.
