The doctor. He is kind, friendly, knowledgeable, and cares about me. Before starting the appointment, he had reviewed all my lab results and knew everything, all the comments from other physicians that also take care of my health.

The doctor really took the time to break down and explain what everything meant that I didn't understand. I really appreciated that. He listened to my concerns because so doctors have just brushed me off in the past.

When I learned my diagnosis of Monoclonal Gammopathy (cancer of the blood) which becomes Myeloma then Multiple Myeloma, I read the cancer doctors bios. I particularly chose Dr. Kagathur. I made an excellent choice. He is caring and concerned, intelligent, thinks outside the box, smart. My diagnosis is very RARELY seen by oncologist as they usually do not see patients until theyAre stage 3 Myeloma or stage 4 Multiple Myeloma so I was a bit of an oddity. Dr. K. Took so much time with me initially explaining everything.I had already determined my diagnosis and where it would lead -Death, before I ever went to Hemotoogy. I did not fear this diagnosis & I shared with Dr K. That I had NO FEAR as this was part of the cycle of life. I know my future forever home is Heaven so there is no reason to fear this diagnosis. I think Dr. K. Was taken back bit with me & my outlook. I shared with him that I would be doing my own research and would prefer to be a partner in my care vs a patient. He agreed. I have had many blood labs, a full body xray, 2 BMB. He has explained everything every step of the way. He has been patient with my many questions as I simply want to live the BEST LIFE I can live with this diagnosis for as many years as I have on this earth. My research has been to help me live that best life. I so appreciate all Dr. K. Has done for me. Probably more for me than others as I am the oddity. We initially had 40 minute appts where he shared info with me & I with him.It has been 11 months now & it seems we have reached a point where he has been told he may have 20 minutes with me at my visits to review the labs I will now do every 3 months. Not the monthly labs where we were finding patterns & how this diagnosis affects my kidneys which it seems Dr. K. Can no longer help me with nor work with my nephroligists to improve my kidney function. Mor forcthst matter other than to turn me over to m
