He wrote a person followup note to explain new prescriptions and side effects, very much appreciated

Needs to work on his patience and demeanor…comes across very aggressive and direct.

It was the worst! I'm not saying he didn't know what he was doing, it was about how he went about doing it. He didn't sit down at first to listen to me. He went only by the past history, of which, he decided, not ask, what would happen. He ordered tests without running the test by me, more importantly, how I wanted to preceed. It was as if he had an aganda, and sadly, because there was no imput from me, it felt like he was just piling on test as if his salary will be higher from it. It was the first exam where I felt like an outsider. Frankly, his approach caught me off guard, and I was out of the exam before I knew what was happening. It wasn't appreciated.

Very disappointed with this visit. The physician appeared detached and focused primarily on the computer rather than the patient. While he asked questions, I did not feel heard. When I attempted to explain several significant health issues that may have been relevant to the reason for my visit, I was interrupted before I could fully provide context. The interaction felt one-sided and tense. When the appointment concluded, I had little understanding of his assessment, concerns, or recommended path forward. He may disagree with my perception, but effective communication is ultimately measured by what the patient understands and experiences. I believe a more attentive and collaborative discussion might have influenced both the diagnostic approach and the conclusions reached. To his credit, he has since followed up with test results and suggested next steps, which I will review with my oncologist next week. As both a patient and someone who has worked in healthcare quality improvement and the Baldrige framework at SSM since 1987, I found this experience particularly disappointing. As a result, I have decided to transition my care to UW Health.

He needs to understand that people may not understand the questions he's asking. Instead of acting frustrated maybe try asking the question in a different manner.
