The care is truly phenomenal! I walk into the MDA facility in San Marco and I am greeted and made to feel welcome. I do not feel as if I am a number, but rather that everyone at MDA truly cares about each patient. The culture of caring is infectious!

On 7/15, Amy RN was my nurse. I believe Donovan was the one taking my vitals. There were some Nurse Practitioners and assist nurses around. These people were personable, professional, caring and very present to me during chemo and immunotherapy. I felt very secure in their care. They definitely went above and beyond for me throughout the day. I would give each of these people an A++. I already value MDA for the care that I have received. I love my Dr and the staff! Everyone in the whole building that I have encountered seem to be knowledgeable and recognize me as a patient going through things. Very kind. The cafe ladies are great too. They help to lighten our load.

This was the first time I had Sarah GRIFFIS. She was very knowledgeable of my case before she came in the room, which meant she had taken time to learn about me personally. She was able to answer all questions and concerns I had as well as go over my labs in a way I could understand. I look forward to seeing either her or Dr [last name] in the future. She was very helpful helping me get calendared for future visits as well.

I have been struggling with diarrhea for a year while eating Lomotil and Imodium like tic tacs. Even a GI physician (not Baptist) after a colonoscopy just prescribed more tic tacs. While inconvenient, I was losing absorption of Lenvatinib and nutrients while my weight spiraled down. Then, I saw APRN Sarah Griffis last Monday who had obviously just read my rather bloated file which includes cystectomy and creation of a neo bladder. She realized the connection to diarrhea and prescribed cholestyramine. Game Changer. That was the issue. That connection which had escaped many others did not escape Sarah. Thank you Sarah. Sarah has my nomination for the BMDA Dr. House clinician of the month award!

The team is always the best! Sarah and the other Oncology RNs are always personable and professional. They are aware of my condition since the last treatment if I have contacted other Baptist physicians or Had to take meds etc. they read the chart. But they also seem to care about my quality of life. The staff and team are amazing.
