As always, warm, welcoming and timely

Everything was great except for the parking - remembered that it was valet (which is a nuisance) but thought it was validated - the fact that it isn't is an even greater nuisance.

Annual skin exam. Appointment felt very quick/rushed and I did not feel comfortable and complete and thorough exam was completed with how fast it was, which is disappointing as this was my once a year visit and I’d like to have another one

I lost my health insurance so wanted to do self pay. I called a couple weeks ahead of my appointment to ask how much it would cost. I was going to cancel if it was too expensive. The person I spoke with said it could be between $150-$250 but couldn't get more specific. So I came 1/2 hour early to my appointment to try to find out how much it would cost. The person at the desk said she couldn't make any guarantees but had seen about $170 in the past. So when I went into the room I talked to the assistant and the doctor. Both said as long as we just did the exam and didn't talk about any other concern or have to do a biopsy, it would be toward the lower end of the range. So that is what we did. And then when I checked out, even with the 25% discount it was over $200 so without the discount that was the high end of the range, even though we only did the basic exam. I don't know what else I could have done to obtain the cost of my care ahead of time, or even in the moment, since what i was told didn't end up to be the case. I was persistent with staff at checkout and they were able to charge me a lower rate, but I still don't understand how it is impossible to get a correct estimate for my care. I did everything I could think to do and it still came out differently from what everyone thought/said. Also, I was only able to get my credit card receipt not an itemized receipt. There's no other business/purchase where you just have to pay what it says without being able to see a breakdown of what you actually paid for.

Everyone was very nice. The doctor was respectful of the fact having a full cancer check is an awkward experience for the patient.

Dr. Arch was in a hurry and very annoyed by my questions. Got a little sarcastic with her answers, which is not what I’m looking for from my doctor.

A great experience as always! My nurse/tech was especially great and made my blood draw, which I hate, so much easier.

I had issues to discuss, but there wasn't enough time in the appointment

I’ve generally had extremely positive experiences while receiving my dermatology care here. However, at my last visit, I felt like my appointment was rushed, and a lot of details were missed. I felt like I was in a prescription factory and the physician was trying to get me out the door as quickly as possible, without really listening to my concerns. For example: my doctor and MA did not submit the prescription for my most important skin cream, which was the purpose of the appointment. I will need to call the office on Monday to get them to contact my pharmacy which is a bit frustrating. However they DID request a prescription for another medication, despite telling my doctor and the MA that I did not need a refill because I already have a substantial supply. Furthermore, during the appt my doctor pointed out a rash on my face which I hadn’t noticed, and offered me a skin cream sample to help clear it up. She did not explain how long I would need to use it or whether it was imperative that I treat it and it started to make me worried. Once I went to check out, I realized I didn’t have the sample and stood there for about 15 minutes with the receptionist trying to get someone from the medical team to give me the sample or explain whether I needed this medication. No one from the medical team could take one minute to speak with me, and all the receptionist could tell me was that apparently they didn’t have any samples. I was told that someone from the team would contact me, but the receptionist couldn’t tell me whether they would call me or send me an email. Later on, I noticed that the doctor had sent in a prescription for a full size of this medication to my pharmacy. I probably will not be filling it since, again, no one has explained to me whether it’s actually necessary. It felt like the team was over-scheduled and there was no flexibility or room for assistance beyond the time frame of the visit. I’ve run into attitudes like this at prior dermatologists and it’s really disappointing to see it at Dermatology and Aesthetics, since my prior experiences were so positive.

Everyone at this office was pleasant and helpful. I was seen on time and the appointment took less time than I expected. My Dr. took time to talk with me and confirm I didn’t have any questions or concerns at the end of the visit.

Dr. Arch is terrific, takes her time, answers questions, very personable and knowledgeable

Feb 25, 2023
This staff really needs to be trained in using gender neutral language. There is no reason to assume my gender just because you’re calling me to the counter. Just say “next person” and “how can I help you?”. I really don’t understand how adding gender here helps anything, if anything it’s hurting people who don’t identify with the gender you are perceiving them as. It’s 2023 and this is a healthcare provider, this is important. Additionally, being referred to as “young lady” when I’m clearly in my 40s feels extremely patronizing.
