What would you tell family and friends about your experience with this provider?
Communication between staff, nurses, and doctors is poor. Documentation of patients visits and medical information needs to be shared with other doctors to better treat the patient. No notes have ever been added to my chart about discussions I have had with other doctors in the office according to nurses and reception staff. Therefore what one doctor says needs to be done is not relayed to the next doctor that you see and treatment plans fall through.

What would you tell family and friends about your experience with this provider?
I feel indifferent about Dr. Hartfiel. Who was informative and listened, but I didn’t feel super comfortable welcomed by him. I felt as if he didn’t really know me and kind of berated me about how he would drop me as a patient if I didn’t do everything he asked. The way he was talking about that with me felt rude. I am a patient that is coming to him to seek care for my pregnancy. This is also not my first pregnancy and I have seen OB doctors before. I am not one to seek out a doctor and then not follow doctors orders. I felt the conversation could have been handled a little differently. I don’t feel 100% comfortable with him, but willing to try to continue services before switching providers. I want to feel completely comfortable and trusting in my provider I also want to feel I can come to them with my concerns and questions. I’m not sure I feel that with dr. Hartfiel.

Dr. Hartfiel is awesome and I highly recommend his. He is curious and professional. He does not talk down to patients like some doctors have to me in the past.

We sit there and wait longer than the actual visit with the doctor. Every time we go in for a scheduled appointment it takes more time to wait in the room vs actually seeing him. And almost never looks at my chart at all. Was asking things that I specifically told the nurse to note to him.

The doctor is extremely knowledgeable and explains things in a way that’s easy to understand. I have never felt rushed during any appointment as he spends the time answering my questions.

I have been extremely happy with my care and experience with Dr. Hartfiel, and his nursing and office staff. I do hope others remember that when having a provider still active with labor/delivery patients, circumstances arrive out of anyone's control. Please be kind!

What would you tell family and friends about your experience with this provider?
I personally do not like seeing male doctors for these types of things because I am a sexual assault survivor. I was forced to see two different male doctors at this office because the only female is a nurse practitioner. I was very traumatized by it and while Doctor Harfiel did a good job he basically told me I have no choice because it’s a rural area and he is training the woman. It felt very cold and clinical. Doctor Minnic had a much better bedside manner and made me feel so much more comfortable. I would not see Dr. Hartfiel again.

Dr. Hartfiel listened to my concerns and explained what medications could and could not do to improve my symptoms. He seems to genuinely care about women's health at all stages of life.

Overall I was not happy with the care I received from Dr. Hartfiel. I would not recommend him to any of my friends of family. This is why I chose to stop receiving care from him and went else where

This was the best pregnancy and postpartum experience I had. This time was way better than my first! I appreciate everyone at that office! Thank you for giving me the best experience and caring for me!

Dr Hartfiel is a great Doctor that makes you feel comfortable and respected. He listens to what you say and explains everything in terms I can understand. I will recommended him as a gift OBGYN to have for your DR.

I would recommend Dr. Hartfield as he is kind and his office runs very smooth. The ladies at the front desk are nice and welcoming. The office is very clean and is conveniently located attached to the hospital.

The entire staff is fantastic. I've struggled with these kinds of appointments since a sexual assault 14 years ago- this office is the first since then to make me feel safe, heard, considered. Dr. Hartfiel respects my autonomy and we make decisions TOGETHER. He listens, gives me information, and his medical opinion, but ultimately I get to choose which direction we go with my health care.
