He was great on explaining on my illness.

I have referred several patients to Dr McCollom and they are all still with him. Except my Mom who passed away 3 years ago. Before she died she was very grateful that I dragged her away from her then horrible doctor and in to see Dr McCollom. She thought he was the best doctor she had ever had in her life! He saved her from cancer, a tympanic glomus jugulair that her previous doctor just kept treating it as an ear infection for at least 5 years. Dr McCollom took one look and sent her to an ENT. The ENT took one look and skipped through the hallway bringing anyone he could find to come look at the rare tumor he had found. I know this is long but my experience with Dr McCollom is a big chunk of my life. He really is the best!

My visit could be used as the "standard" of what all patients experience when they visit their physician. I was warmly greeted BY NAME from the two ladies working at the front desk as I entered the office. One of the ladies politely & professionally explained there were a few things that needed to be signed, explained them simply but thoroughly, and helped me to sign. The office was modern, very clean, was furnished nicely, located where it was easy to travel to, and parking was easily accessible. I did not have to wait long to be seen. I was then taken back by a kind, knowledgable young lady who explained what she'd be doing with me today. She handled herself professionally but with empathy taking my vitals, confirming the reason for my visit, etc. As I waited in the exam room, there was a computer monitor sharing professional and personal information for each member of Dr. McCollom team including individual pictures, pictures with the team member & their family, professional personal information about each one. It made me feel like each team member was as real person ... just like me. A very short time later Dr. McCollom came in to speak with me. He asked really good health-related questions and actively listened to what I said and answered my questions and concerns in a professional, easy to understand way. I could tell he really cared about me. He made recommendations for me that seemed that were suitable for me. He recommended me having a body analysis done while there in the clinic (at no charge). I did that while there and had my results quickly. Because he wanted to do some more in depth analysis of labs, he asked that I go to the SSM Healthplex to have my labs done. I left Dr. McCollom's office and went directly to the Healthplex. They were extremely friendly, did my labs quickly, and I was finished in about 15 minutes. Again, from start to finish, I rate my experience with SSM Health & Dr. McCollom's team at 10 out of 10. Well done!
