What would you tell family and friends about your experience with this provider?
Amy Northrup makes me feel comfortable with a home like setting instead of a cold professional office. Amy makes me feel completely confident to discuss anything with her, no judgment. only compassion and understanding. Sometimes redirecting my priorities without me even realizing it. Amy has tracked my medications and given suggestions for supplements. My physical well-being is just as important as my mental health to Amy. I have have been treated at other mental health centers. Which usually led to severe anxiety and failure to complete treatment. In closing I want to say for the first time in my life I don't feel lost and confused regarding my mental health. I feel confident and informed in a enjoyable environment. I look forward to my appointments with Amy to discuss what goals I've accomplished and where I need help achieving others. I started treatment with Behavioral health and Amy Northrup I was homeless, reckless and suicidal. I now have all my needs met and more.

What would you tell family and friends about your experience with this provider?
It’s hard to meet someone and open up about such deep issues and Amy was wonderful at making me comfortable being a new person. I look forward to returning for the further help I need.

What would you tell family and friends about your experience with this provider?
Very kind,caring and respectful to me and my wife. Trying hard to get counselor who can see Medicare patients, since my last one has been gone for over a year and half. So short staffed on a Medicare counselor. She helps in every way.

She provided answers to any questions I had. Provided thorough questions to how I was doing, and provide results as to the best solution possible. With possible trial and error based upon what would best suit my needs

Was there anything that you feel was outstanding?
Everything about Amy is absolutely outstanding. Unlike my last psychiatrist from MyMichigan Health, she actually listens. You can tell she cares. Genuinely. Amy will actually listen to you and hear what you have to say and work with you on your medication to ensure I’m not uncomfortable or having a side effect or withdrawals. Love her!!

Amy Northrop has always been amazing . Her team that she has to refill prescriptions is not . Never answer the phones and leave people without medication.

Dr. Amy goes out of her way to make you feel like you matter as a person! Not just as a patient. Connie and Kathy at the front desk go out of there way to help make your appointment work with your schedule when coming far away. The nurse's and whole staff are awesome!

If you could get a counselor hired that can see Medicare patients. Would be great.

I like how real Amy is. Very down to earth and not judgmental.
What could have been done to improve your experience?
I had to do some research regarding my insurance after my visit with Amy. I was to call back with the details. I did, and left a message. After several days (maybe even a week?) no one has called me back so I am not really sure where it all stands.

Amy I’m sure has a lot of people she sees but she knows me my story and listens to me hears me and cares for me . I will forever be grateful for her.

Was there anything that you feel was outstanding?
My initial appointment and the second one was good. The only complaint that I have is when addressing my adhd needs Amy made a comment about being apprehensive about Adderall because of them being sold on the street. I’m not sure if that comment was made because I disclosed my fathers drug abuse history but I didn’t appreciate it considering I have NEVER abused, sold or bought street drugs and I don’t want to be to be viewed as being like my father. I left upset thinking this dr must think I’m only in her office to get some supply to sell. I did not like feeling like that and hope that it was as intended as it came off. I will still see Amy, just for all staff never make assumptions or comments like that without knowing the patient and their personal history. We are not all like our parents. I live my life very opposite of the negative parts of my childhood as much as I can.

Everyone in that office is amazing, I've been going to mental health doctors for 10 years, and by far the best one I've ever been to. Everyone is very nice and caring.

The way Amy remembers the patients last appointment and the important details discussed during it and incorporates it in his next appointment with follow up. Makes the patient feel like they are more than just a number.

She takes the time to listen . She also takes time to help you stay informed about your diagnosis by education materials and verbal communication. I have anxiety when meeting new people. She was easy to talk to.

Checked in promptly. Always nice and friendly. Nurse is always willing to laugh at my jokes. Ms Amy always pleasant and very helpful about my treatment.

Amy is great. Easy to talk to and always willing to help. The staff at the office is terrible. Other patients and myself can always rely on being greeted by the most unfriendly personalities at check in desk. This greeting comes with a complimentary condescending stare which sets the mood nicely. Upon being checked in it seems to be a 50/50 chance of continued passive aggressive cold shoulders or a pleasant interaction. You never know. Everything’s great once in Amy’s in office. Only taking the time to leave this feedback today because I’m annoyed at the moment. Amy made medication change, told me to call if it wasn’t working and she’d change it back, no hassle. I worried about a hassle as reaching her has always been a hassle. I called, got front desk, transferred to nurse, gave nurse my message for Amy. It’s been 2.5 days, haven’t heard back. Assume the message was never given. Almost out of meds and if I call again, I’ll be met with increased passive aggressiveness next visit.
