My last appointment with Amy Northrup was supposed to be a in person visit, but this was changed to virtual because Amy wanted to work from home. When I went to schedule my 6 month follow up visit, which Amy told me to do, I was told that I would have to come in about a month because my last visit was supposed to be in person and I needed to have one in person visit a year. Why should I be penalized because for convenience of my provider. This causes me extra money and time. P.S. The one month visit was also scheduled to be virtual. What's going on in this office?

Amy is great. Her staff is always pleasant. The issue I have is that I’m required to do 1 in person visit per year, but the provider only does online visits. I have to drive 1.5 hours round trip for someone to take my weight and blood pressure and it has to be done in the day of the visit. Im routinely at a UM facility for treatment and have these basic readings taken often. There’s no reason I should have to make an unnecessary trip for something so minor.

That I felt heard and she actually wanted to hear me and looked me in the eyes as I was expressing my pain I had been experiencing 40+ years I walked out not feeling SHAME not feeling LESSER than I felt HOPE again! I wish I’d listened and seen her years ago!

When I first met Amy, I was in the middle of a panic attack. I was 20 minutes late to my appointment and needed mental help more than ever and she still agreed to see me. I've come a long way since that day, my mental health will always be a work in progress but the pathway is alot less dark just simply having this staff in my corner of support. Amy actually listens to me and hears what I have to say as we navigate my treatment plan together. She genuinely cares about her patients and I feel like a human being, rather than a number. Amy has saved my life, without even knowing it ❣️

I have referred several family members and friends to Michigan Behavioral Health to receive services for their mental health issues. I am extremely happy with the services I have received. I appreciate all of the help I have received and look forward to the future and the services I have yet to receive. I feel like Amy Northrup is genuinely concerned with my well being and truly wants what is best for me. I can't remember a time that I have received care or service from any other place that has been this helpful and effective. The treatment plan that Amy Northrup has put in place for me has helped me more than any other treatment plan I have ever had. I have been learning more coping skills and how to avoid negative triggers that used to be extremely hard to identify and process in a more healthy and productive manner. I understand that I have serious mental conditions that will always require me to put in the work and maintain a positive attitude towards life Regardless the setbacks.
