Schnakenburg was respectful and compassionate. However, the standard of care for pain management during IUD insertion is unacceptable. I said that I was concerned about pain management, and providers only asked if I had taken painkillers before the appointment. They did not explain what, if anything, would be done to reduce pain during the procedure. The pain I experienced was severe. It was much worse than any period cramps I've had. It was hard to remain standing when the cramps hit for at least an hour after, until I was able to go home and take OTC pain medication. I would tell family and friends to find a provider that reaearches and implements effective pain management for IUD insertion. I'm especially disappointed because I previously would have recommended this practice, as I consider it a transgender-friendly provider.

I would highly recommend her, she thoroughly explains everything and is super nice and friendly and so is everyone I have met in her office. I really appreciate how nice everyone has been.

That this obgyn was amazing she was very nice and she didn't rush out of the room she stayed in there and talked to me about my exam and answered questions I had and even explained things to me in my language lol and also the other girl that came in with her was also extremely friendly and understanding. And I loved the way she even was expecting and still just a wonderful glow about her and smiles! I couldn't have been more comfortable and pleased with her even considering the exam. Thank you Alexis for your kindness

Alexis is absolutely amazing! Very caring and compassionate. She explains everything so well and answers all questions with a caring response very thoroughly. She doesn’t make you feel belittled when you ask questions. I have seen Alexis for both routine and procedure appointments and she has been the best provider.

She listens and answers all questions professionally without making you feel bad or pressured because you can tell she cares. She has been absolutely amazing for routine and procedure appointments.

This was my first visit with this provider. She was very thorough and comprehensive in listening to me and dicussing my medical history and needs. I would definitely recommend her to family and friends.

Lexi is wonderful!! Getting an IUD is a scary experience, she handled the procedure extremely well. She coached me as she went along reminding me to breathe and she explained the procedure as she was going in a way that helped me understand, but not with so much detail that it frightened me. She also allowed me to take a break when I asked when I was feeling pain. Although it was an unpleasant procedure, she made the experience as comfortable as possible.

Lexi was kind and understanding about my concerns and very open to helping me find something that would work for me. She made the experience extremely comfortable and smooth. For something that can be traumatic to a person, I felt safe and heard and will be returning to this office for all of my routine care.

I was very nervous because I haven't been in a few years and she completely put me at ease and gave me a lot of information I didn't know. Everyone I talked to from the reception desk to the nurse who took my vitals were all very friendly and welcoming as well. Definitely a change from experiences I've had with other doctors who just treat you like a number so I appreciate it.

Excellent service. She had a student with her during my appointment. I was asked for permission to allow the student to observe and perform parts of the exam. They were both professional, kind, considerate and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend Dr. Schnakenberg to my friends and family.
