Vicky is an excellent provider. She doesn’t use medical jargon, takes her time, and addresses all of my concerns

Victoria is extremely knowledgeable of female anatomy/physiology and pathophysiology. She has chosen to highlight a birthing person’s issues (c-section recovery) that have not traditionally been seen as important or even needing specialized treatment. In a day and age where we are trying to change the dynamic of healthcare to be more inclusive and proactive about hearing minorities voices, she saw a great need for the birthing person and raced to fill the gap. She went “against the flow” to convince fellow OB/GYN practitioners at NW that although this type of treatment was not the standard of care, there was a great need for c-section therapy to become a relevant practice. I did not want a c-section and hoped to have a “normal” delivery. I had to have the surgery in order that I and my daughter could live. I am so grateful! Now I am coping with abdominal pain with activity and pelvic muscle dysfunction that can only be assessed and treated by physical therapy. This treatment will help me heal from surgery and allow me to return to my very physical job (I am an RN) with my full strength returned. Without this treatment I cannot even walk fast or run because of my abdominal pain. It will greatly improve my quality of life after surgery and give hope that I can rebuild the strength and wellbeing I depend upon. I could have had my daughter and had surgery at so many places in the city. Despite a difficult surgery, I would choose Northwestern again just for this therapy. The c-section clinic run by Victoria is the most relevant treatment happening at all of Northwestern’s OB/GYN practices today. The clinic was not spoken of or offered openly after my surgery- it should be prolific on the lips of the OB/GYN providers and widely encouraged as a way to ensure proper recovery. Victoria should be highly commended for pioneering a new path for women’s needs.
