Dr. Hwan was very thorough with his assessments of my daughter's health concerns. He was patient and took his time to hear my concerns and address each one during my visits. I appreciated that he took my situation as a first time parent into consideration when I asked many questions about my daughter's care.

He seemed technically competent and on both of my appointments with him he seemed to listen, convey info clearly, and give me the time I needed to get all my questions answered. My reluctance here has to do with 'systems issues'...... I think there should ave been more opportunities for direct communication with him - and it would have smoothed the way through the pre and post op phases.

Dr. Desai explained to me what was going on in detail. He told me about the route of treatment thoroughly. Although it’s a tough procedure to accept Dr. Desai had a very comforting approach. He also listened to all of my questions and concerns and answered them to the best of his ability. Highly recommend

I think Dr. Soares is very smart and knows what he’s doing. However I don’t think that he listened to me. When I originally met him after my 2nd kidney stone in August, he ordered urine tests to determine if what I was eating was causing my kidney stones. I insisted to him that it’s because I don’t drink enough water. He seemed to disagree, or at least he didn’t want to hear that. He gave me information on types of foods I should not eat such as peanuts and spinach. I went ahead and did the urine tests, only because there was no out-of-pocket cost to me. I did not change my diet one bit except to drink more water. Today he told me that I still have a 5 mm stone in my left kidney. He was freaking me out because no one had told me that. Unfortunately he was looking at my old CAT scan, I do not have any kidney stones as of that CT scan. Like I said, I believe he is very smart. However when physicians are running late and stressed, they’re going to make mistakes. It would’ve been better if he had taken the time to carefully review my history before telling me information that scares me like that, especially since the appointment was over the phone and not in person. It was upsetting and therefore I lose confidence in this physician. If I have to have him as my physician in the future, how can I trust that he’s going to carefully review my history before making a medical decision on me? It was upsetting to me that today he told me that my reason for kidney stones was because I didn’t drink enough water. Like I said it’s like he didn’t listen to me. I told him months ago my academic preparation, knowledge of physiology, and clinical profession in which I work. It’s really important to get to know your patients and to listen to them. Also he told me that I am at very low risk of having another kidney stone. I disagree. If I don’t find a way to drink more water, I’m sure to have another kidney stone. I’m on my own.
