Robert A. Bayer, MD

Dr. Bayer is the finest physician I see at Northwestern. He is thoughtful and detailed in all aspects of his communication and detailed explanations of current status, future paths of treatment and proactive/prevention strategies. He does look at the computer screen more than he looks me in the eye when speaking. Unlike other, newer Northwestern staff, he remembers who I am and has thoroughly reviewed my chart before entering the room. Perhaps he remembers me because he looks at and interacts with me instead of staring at the computer screen during our visit. He inspires hope and trust, something lacking in many newer staff since Northwestern took over KCH and DeKalb Clinic. The corporate decision-makers downtown could learn a lot from Dr. Bayer about proper physician conduct, application of intellect and inspirational conduct with patients.
