Hard to put all this into words but I will try. Beyond showing that he is familiar with my history, Dr Eimer discusses the complexities/uncertainties of my situation with me, explains the conclusions he is drawing, is attentive to my questions and we discuss the options. I feel that I have his full attention and that I am heard. I don’t feel as if I am a number in the day’s schedule. When he walks me out to the front and makes sure that my next visits are getting scheduled before saying goodbye, I feel that “patient� means respected guest. I am glad that Dr Eimer is training young doctors!
