I have seen this physician twice, and each time he has surpassed any other physician I have met with at NWM. When he entered the room (with his intern/resident), he looked me in the eyes and asked how I was. Then he asked me to remind him who I live with. He was clearly checking to make sure I had some sort of support in my life before conducting the pro-forma checklist. In a post-pandemic world, this is so important. He is warm and engaging AND the most thorough physician I've ever met. For example, in trying to narrow down a problem, he and his intern spent nearly an hour with me reviewing my history (both in mychart and through conversation). When his intern/resident moved to the computer to check basic symptom information, rather than leaving the room, Dr. Stone sat behind her to gently guide/monitor the conversation. He appears to take his roles as both a physician and mentor seriously and approaches both in an exemplary manner. Finally, Dr. Stone uses his years of expertise to think outside the box of the cardiac standard of care playbook. For example, although his specialty is cardiology, he's the doctor who suggested I may have a thyroid imbalance. Initially, I was a bit confused during the exam when he checked my Achilles reflex. In doing so, he noted the response was 'sluggish' and suggested I get my thyroid levels checked. A few weeks later, my PCP confirmed Dr. Stone's suspicion. A cardiologist that sees the body as interconnected and takes the time to check my Achilles for a hormone problem made my heart happy!

Dr. Stone is a really wonderful physician. He takes his time, is generous in sharing his knowledge and I feel that he truly cares for me as a whole person. He always takes everything I say seriously, which I truly appreciate -- it makes me less self-conscious about bringing concerns to him. I so appreciate his compassion and expertise.

Dr Stone is extremely thorough, knowledgeable, & trustworthy. He has dramatically improved my heart health. He’s discovered things other cardiologists haven’t. I feel like he’s a top specialist on a global level. He does however struggle to discuss sensitive subjects with a modern, empathetic approach. Every time I visit, there is commentary about being overweight, and how women are always happier and feel better about themselves when they lose weight. I’m aware I’m overweight, but this kind of commentary is so outdated.

Dr Stone is very methodical in his style of communications as well as his knowledge of the issue.
