The nurse, Rodrick, was awesome. Even when he learned I was not vaccinated for Covid due to medical family history of blood clots, he respected my choice and I didn’t feel judged. The lower score is due to how Dr Parikh made me feel when she learned I was not vaccinated for Covid. I respect people who are and aren’t Covid vaccinated. Both can spread Covid so neither is really keeping anyone safe from Covid. The difference is that vaccinated people (who aren’t afraid of blood clotting or have a family history of blood clots/strokes) don’t get as sick. She wore extra gear to protect herself from me not thinking that I was at higher risk of catching a cold, flu, or even omnicron variant (I have natural immunity to Covid since I had it one month ago but the data says no one is safe from omnicron) from her since she sees so many patients daily. Outside of this, my appointment went smoothly. This isn’t to bash or disrespect her. It is a reminder that Covid vaccinate and non Covid vaccinate are equals and one should not be shamed over the other. Both can spread Covid. Both can get Covid. Both have to quarantine if they get Covid. One doesn’t get as sick. But vaccinated people can get Covid from other vaccinated people too. So if you double mask and goggle up, do it for all your patients. Data matters. Treating people equally matters.
