No explanation of treatment...he did first precedure, but did not do second procedure, but had his 'right hand man/doctor' do it. After second procedure a nurse said I could now go to 'Plastics'. I received no explanations and no paperwork as to final results, etc.

I didn’t really see Dr Alam at this appointment. A resident did the procedure. I was told by the resident that Dr Alam would be in to “check his work” and answer any further questions I might have. Dr. Alam’s check consisted of being walking in the doorway for less than five seconds and looking at the procedure site from about 10-12 feet away and promptly leaving.

I would of course still recommend him however I had to wait 4 hours to see him and every time I asked a nurse or front desk person how long they kept telling me “I was next” or “another 30 minutes” I then started chatting with other people in the waiting room and we all gad the same time slot and I’ve heard other people have had to wait 3+ hours previously. When I met with him, he was great but I think the scheduling needs to be taken care of a bit better. My appointment was at 11am I showed up at 10:45 and didn’t see him until 2:45. I never got to eat lunch or get coffee. It would have been nice to know that my wait time was extended so I could have gotten food or coffee or water.

He really listened to my needs, even though we differed on when the surgery will be done.

Doctor was over an hour late before coming into the room for less than five minutes. An undesirable experience, especially for a fellow employee, when paying $200 for a consultation.

My appointment was at 10:00 a. for basal cell on my upper back. It took a long time to see Dr. Alam. After almost 2 hours I was called to the exam room. I was given lidocaine by Dr. [ ]. I was in a cold room and given a warming blanket. Another 1-1/2 hour goes by, I finished reading Malamud’s The Fixer, and Dr. Alam came in. Dr. Alam made an incision to my back, and looked at. Fortunately only one incision was made. I caught the 4:35 train for home. This is not a complaint re Dr. Alam as a physician. But it seems and feels disorganized.

My third surgery with the by-now famous Dr. Alam and it went beautifully. I remain fortunate to be one of his patients. Yesterday went without a hitch or discomfort.

I found Dr Alam utterly charming. I was nervous about the procedure, but from the minute he entered the room, he was upbeat and easygoing. I enjoyed talking with him throughout. The anesthetic he administered into the bottom of my foot felt like nothing at all--and neither did the major tissue excision. I really appreciate his explanation, and distraction by means of conversation. He's top notch and will recommend to my friends and colleagues.
