She had great bedside manner and exams were done professionally. However, I was disappointed in how she spoke about guidance for what not to do while pregnant. This included “not even a sip of alcohol”. I pushed back on this because I have a literal sip of alcohol every few weeks when the craving hits. The response was well from now on, not even a sip. Do you really think you need it? Honestly, I found this judgey and well designed studies have not shown light drinking to have a negative impact in pregnancy. I did not continue the conversation but left the office questioning the other guidance she had provided and less trust than I would like to have with my medical professionals. This was generally a positive experience, but that small interaction left a bad taste in my mouth.
