She has always helped me with all my concerns and the health of my eyes. She listens and is caring. Any eye checks are thorough. She was calming during surgery.

Dr. Mathias was recommended to me by a friend who had cataract surgery. Dr. M answered all of my questions and listened carefully in each one of my appointments. I really appreciate her as my surgeon.

Dr. Mathias is a rare gem because probably only less than 5% of ophthalmologists have the training and certifications cation to use the new MiLoop tool to minimize adverse energy impact on critical structures during cataract surgery. She can also teach residents and students how she does it, too! Totally cool, a star in the heavens! I need her some ial skills because I sustained adverse side effects in my prior cataract surgery on the left eye. Thank God Dr. Mathias has the special talents and skills to diminish the probability of a repeat of the adverse side effects. Northwestern Medicine has selected the best of the best eye surgeons!

Dr. Mathias came highly recommended by my friends and I am so grateful she was my cataract surgeon. She carefully explained every step of the process and I felt like I was her only patient- and she is a very busy and hardworking surgeon. I look forward to recommending Dr. M to any of my friends who are seeking an expert cataract surgeon who is a compassionate physician.
