Dr. Mahieu listens, full stop. That alone, is priceless. And she's willing to adapt and accommodate for different needs and abilities--something I really value. She, along with Dr. Hsieh were able to diagnose me properly with a common, but not well-understood variation of inflammatory arthritis, when others, including Mayo Clinic, dismissed it. She cares about what's important to me, my goals, and worries, and takes that into account so we can make treatment decisions together. And she asks my opinion and permission to examine me--something EVERY medical professional needs to be doing, but especially with specialists, many tend not to do this.

Dr Mahieu is wonderful! She is an extremely bright and compassionate physician who always does a thorough exam and comes up with creative solutions to my rather complicated medical issues. Dr. Mahieu asks great questions and listens attentively—I always feel heard! Finally, I look forward to each visit as she is a cheerful and caring person. She is one of my favorite doctors!

She is very understanding and caring. Always ready to suggest treatment revisions to respond to patients changing needs. Is courteous and yet professional. She has helped to stay functional and my RA stable. Had previous RA physicians who would not change their treatment plans even though my needs changed. She is a great caring doctor, who I highly recommend to other RA patients.
