Surgeons have a reputation of having a poor bedside manner. Dr. Bhakta does not fit that profile. He is skilled and proficient but also personable and caring. I always felt that he cared for my wellbeing both professionally and personally.

I feel extremely fortunate that Dr Bhakta was the on call surgeon when I was admitted via the ER. The first meeting, he sketched on paper a diagram of my organs and how I will continue to have normal functions without my [organ](which was still shocking to me as I never had any problems previously). He took time to explain the procedure and answered all of my questions. I felt safe knowing that he was confident and very knowledgeable. Truly excellent.

I was originally supposed to have my surgery done with another surgeon. But due the schedules in the OR and the other other surgeons' office schedule, Dr. Bhakta was a last minute change in my care. Both surgeons were very professional and made sure that Dr. Bhakta would take over only if I was comfortable with the plan. As a patient, I appreciated that and agreed to the change. Dr. Bhakta took some time to talk to me and my husband, got to know us for a few minutes and made us feel comfortable. My surgery went well and my recovery was smooth. I also appreciate the anesthesia team and everyone else in the OR as well as the PACU nurses that were involved in my care. I had no pain or nausea or vomiting afterwards.
