It’s been a pleasure working with her. I have always been interested in hypnosis, so I’m glad that we tried it. I can’t help but wonder if it would have been better for her to use her own methods, where she would talk to me, instead of reading the scripts. She does, however, have an excellent voice for this, so it does sound like she’s speaking and not reading. Hypnotherapy does not cure all ills. It certainly would not have cured my lymphoma, but even if it works for certain things, like GI, it doesn’t mean that it will work for everyone. You can’t judge a doctor on the basis of a won/loss record. The best doctors often get the patients who have not had success with other doctors and their types of treatment.

Please see prior surveys. Dr. Kelley Phan needs to be cloned, because her schedule is too booked up. Good doctors get a lot of patients who want appointments, so this is understandable, but this problem ought to be addressed. Perhaps you could find/hire another practitioner who does this work.

I found Kelley to be a great listener first and foremost. She seemed to understand my case so I didn’t have to do a ton of repetition. She suggested tools that I could use almost immediately that were consistent with tools I currently use. She was very engaging and knowledgeable too.

See previous surveys, as I have already gone into great detail with all the “walks on water/talks to God” stuff. Suffice it to say that she cares about me. I wish there would be electrodes attached to my head to see if my mind is accepting her hypnosis. I don’t know if I’m zoning out or in a deep state of hypnosis.

I have already provided loads of information about Dr. Phan, so refer to the previous surveys. She was booked up when we tried to set up the appt. That’s understandable, since good doctors are in high demand. She said that if there were any cancellations, that she would contact me. A couple of weeks passed with no calls, and it seemed like there would be no cancellations. (I kept up hope, however, and it reminded me of my days in the Air Force, when something important was coming up, and we had to be on “6 ring alert,” where we would be pick up our phones within 6 rings. I did not want to pass up a cancellation.) Fortunately, there was a cancellation, and as soon as she notified me, I replied YES!!! The fact that she remembered shows that she cares. I am neither optimistic nor pessimistic that she will be successful in curing me, because I have been suffering with this condition for many years. Her chances, however, are probably better than the chances of the Cubs or White Sox this year. With her profession, however, she does not see patients unless efforts to cure them by other means have not worked. If we fail, it isn’t her fault, because I will know that she tried her best. Miracles do happen.

She has taken interest in me as a person and not just a number. I don't know if that's in her DNA or if it comes with the profession...or both. There had been a screw up where the insurance company (Optum) that handles VA Community Care denied payment, but as we learned later, it was that someone at Northwestern had put in the claim for some eye doctor. At the time, we thought that she was "out of network," so I checked to see what a provider must do to get in the network. She went out of her way to get into the network, something that she did not have to do. IT employees apparently get paid for making changes, whether the changes are good or bad. Please don't let your IT people replace her with their ChatGPT or any other form of AI.

BECAUSE SHE CARES. She looks at me like an individual and not a number. She wants to know what's causing my problem. I realize that I am a difficult case, but if I weren't, I wouldn't be working with her.
