Dr. Carlins is a good doctor, and you can really tell he loves what he does. He’s straight forward and gets to the point. We have another baby on the way, and if it so happens we need the same procedure performed we’re relieved to know we can count on someone to deliver exceptional care. Thank you for helping our daughter, it has 100% made a night and day difference in her sleep.

The doctor did not try to explain the cause of the problem so that I’ll understand what’s going on. The appointment was supposed to be at least thirty minutes but he only spent ten minutes for the appointment. He only looked at the problem once and was impatient in explaining to us.

In addition to the above, dr. Carlins did not know my medical history which is available for NOrthwestern given that I was Northwestern Medicine patient for the last 12 years. Very disappointed and I am not comfortable with him being my doctor, however, as per Judy we can’t change it now.

Did the minimum and he suctioned rather than explain to me why he preferred this to manual. Maybe he wanted to do the least amount of work. He appeared bored and disengaged. Wouldn’t go back to him or recommend him

Dr. Carlins did not seem interested in my issues. I was very ill and frightened for my health! This was my third doctor's appointment in 5 days- 2 previous urgent care visits. I was very hopeful for genuine care and concern. He stated that, ' It looks like a sinus infection!' That was speculative! What steps could he have taken to be certain of that diagnosis? The exam was inadequate!

Dr. Carlins prescribed a helpful new nasal spray for my post-nasal drip. However, near the end of the microsuctioning of my left ear, I experienced a sudden partial loss of hearing, as if the ear canal were blocked. Dr. Carlin said the ear needed to adjust to the change. The right ear, the one I came in for, experienced no similar effect. I am convinced that the instrument got too close to my eardrum or other sensitive part of the ear canal. Hearing almost normal now, but I'm experiencing discomfort in the left ear.

Short visit, dr spent 5 minutes with me. Didn’t ask me many questions or take a thorough history. However, he was skillful with the thing that looks down your throat. But it went so fast, I doubt he got a thorough look.

I was sent to Dr. Allen H. Carlins for a persistent issue. He dismissed me at my first visit saying nothing was wrong after spending two minutes with me. The issue never went away. My primary sent me to him again and I was dismissed just the same. I was sent for a hearing test and when I showed up he said “it’s too late they’re already gone” and again “there’s nothing wrong.” I have never seen a Dr. As short, dismissive, and uninterested in helping someone.
