Dr. Pant displayed the same exemplary qualities as noted above (i.e. treated me respectfully, kindly listened to my perspectives & concerns, etc.), and he was compassionate about the circumstances I had and presently face. He was confident in his proposed treatment plan and explained his recommendation thoroughly & in a way that was easily understood. He returned a phone call (when I anticipated a nurse returning the call) to answer some questions I had following my appointment. Trustworthy professional—essential quality for a doctor!

On the other hand, the doctor's notes are very good. But he cites a medical term in his notes that he never used when I saw him at the office. I only read his notes a couple of days after my visit. By that time, I had already spent a great deal of time doing my own research. Ultimately, I think I agree with his diagnosis, but his 'explanation' at the office was confusing and basically inadequate. It would really help if doctors used the correct medical terminology while face to face with the patient, not only in their notes.

The only point deducted is that Dr. Shastri should leave some time for the patient to consider whether to go forward for the procedure talked or not. After I talked with Dr. Shastri, I was asked when to have the procedure, I felt a little rush. The better way may be let the patient go home to think about it and then to call for the schedule; or after the scheduling, let the patient know that s/he could cancel the appointment if s/he have not prepared well for the procedure.
