Prior to engaging Dr. Walsh, I had seen another noted neurosurgeon in North Shore area who could not identify the source of the constant pain that radiated down my right leg and rendered exercise impossible. Dr. Walsh quickly identified the issued and then showed me on the MRI where the nerve had been impinged at S1. He took the time to ask questions, listen, and thoughtfully diagnose the issue. He was open to a stepwise approach that first started with an epidural but then moved to surgery when it was clear there was no additional benefit without alleviating the structural issue. I am a patient relieved finally! Wish I had started with Dr. Walsh first.
