My prior experience with Dr. Mathias was a thoughtful and effective management of a serious threat to my vision. Now with the obvious need for remediation of cataracts, I didn’t hesitate to ask for the current intervention. Several of my other NM Ophthalmology physicians said that if and when their time comes, they will insist that Dr. Mathias in another role be the surgeon to handle the case. Now two days after the first surgery and a day after the first evaluation I have a clear set of instructions that give me confidence that I can manage my patient role. Although the recovery process is just beginning, I’m seeing clear signs that she has put me on a path to literally seeing the world anew. Stepping back into my work in research design and evaluation, my only regret is that this survey’s metric for satisfaction stops at ten.
